Last year, the city went into quarantine right before St. Patrick’s day, causing all events to be canceled. Things may still look a little different, but local businesses are still pulling out the stops to make St. Patrick’s Day a little more memorable this year.

Specials at Q39

Q39 will serve two Irish-themed dishes at both their Midtown and Overland Park locations only available on March 17. Try the smoked corn beef brisket Reuben for $13 or the smoked corned beef brisket plate with cabbage, new potatoes and root vegetables for $20. These entrees are available for both dine-in or carryout. They will also have two drink specials: Guinness for $8 and a Jameson Irish mule cocktail for $11. Locations in Midtown and Overland Park.

Snake Saturdays at The Big Rip Brewing Company

Sad about the Snake Saturday parade being canceled? Well, breweries across the Northland are still making the most of the St. Patrick’s Day tradition. Every Friday and Saturday night in March, Big Rip will host live music and beer specials to enjoy. 216 E. 9th Ave., North KC

Bourbon Tasting at Parlor

Parlor is hosting a St. Patrick’s day themed bourbon tasting on St. Patrick’s Day from 6-8 pm. Each guest will a one-ounce pour four different bourbons from different distilleries around Kansas City and will also receive one ticket for a full-size cocktail that they sampled. 1707 Locust St., KCMO

Specials at Third Street Social

Third Street Social in Lee’s Summit is offering an Irish-style lunch, dinner, happy hour and drink specials. The lunch and dinner specials include Guinness mussels, bangers and mash and Dublin coddle. The happy hour specials, from 3-6 pm, include corned beef sliders and Irish banger dog. Snake Saturday at Cinder Block Brewery
