Becca Kufrin takes us behind the scenes of The Bachelor: Live on Stage

If you’re anything like me, you spend your Monday nights cuddled up on the couch watching The Bachelor, one hand holding a glass of rosé and the other scrolling through Twitter to keep up with the best memes. (If you’re watching this current season, you’re familiar with #ChampagneGate.) Now, a new live show spin-off is getting us off the sofa and to the Midland for quality romance.
We chatted with former Bachelorette Becca Kufrin, who now lives in Carlsbad, California, with her fiance, Garrett Yrigoyen, and their adorable rescued corgi, Minno. Kufrin will make her way to Kansas City on March 12 to host The Bachelor: Live On Stage with former Bachelor star and fan favorite Ben Higgins. In this live show, one Kansas City-area heartthrob will be introduced to local contestants and the audience will get to play a part in helping him find “the one.”

What about The Bachelor Live: On Stage are you looking forward to the most? I think the entire experience of the tour will be so new, fun and exciting, but I’m really looking forward to meeting so many new faces on stage and hope that some relationships blossom between the bachelor and his contestants. I know firsthand that finding a partner in an unconventional way is possible, so the fact that Ben and I are able to assist in someone else’s beginning of a love story is so exciting to me.

What are you hoping audience members take away from the show? I want fans to have a fun evening and feel like they’re watching a show unlike any other. Since this is the first time this tour has ever happened, it will be something special and unique that Ben and I can share with everyone who shows up. There will definitely be laughs, awkward moments, silly dance moves and hopefully a little bit of romance, so audience members will get to see a little bit of everything.

How has it been working with Ben Higgins? Ben is the best person for the job. He is so charismatic and great with all types of people, so to have him by my side while on stage will definitely make the shows (hopefully) go smoothly. He genuinely cares about the fans and puts their desires and experience at the top of the list, so I hope the audience can feel the love and his desire to give back to them.

What is your favorite memory from any of The Bachelor shows thus far? I, of course, have to say finding Garrett and getting engaged to him! But also the friendships that I took away from the seasons with contestants and producers made it all worthwhile. Also, a selfish favorite memory was meeting my favorite singer and performer, Betty Who. She is amazing!

Will Minno be making an appearance at any of the live shows? Yes! Minno will be living on the tour bus with me and taking the road by storm. Hopefully most of the venues are dog friendly and will allow her on stage because let’s face it—she’s the biggest diva of us all and loves the limelight.

GO: Thursday, March 12. 8 pm. $39-$69. Arvest Bank Theatre at the Midland, 1228 Main St., KCMO
