Owner Edward Schmalz was previously a middle school teacher and became worried when he noticed his students spent most of their time looking at their phones instead of playing together. After visiting a similar shop in Omaha, he decided to bring the concept to Kansas City.
“If you come here and look around any day of the week, if you find anyone on their cell phones, I will buy you your next round because you won’t find anyone,” he says.
