Since the legalization of hemp cultivation after the Farm Bill of 2018, many CBD products were made available in the market. These are CBD tinctures, creams, shampoos, vape pens, edibles such as gummies etc. These are produced using CBD which are made from hemp plants which have been used in natural treatments for thousands of years. For a new user or buyer, selecting between different types of products can be a difficult task. This article will give you a brief overview of some of the CBD products.

Which Product is Ideal for Your Need?

The first factor to consider when selecting a CBD product is your requirement, like whether it is for localized or whole-body effect. This is followed by the onset time and dosage of the product or products based upon the concentration of CBD measured in milligram (mg). The following are some of the CBD products you can choose from.

CBD Vape

Here you inhale CBD vapors using devices such as a vape pen. This method has the fastest onset time because CBD is absorbed directly into the bloodstream through your lungs. This method has a higher bioavailability and delivers more CBD in smaller quantity or volume. The effects last up to 3 hours.

CBD Oil Tincture

This usually come with a dropper and is consumed sublingually. They are highly potent concentrated CBD liquid. Tinctures have second-fastest onset time because of how they are consumed. This is consumed by placing under the tongue, where it is absorbed rapidly into the bloodstream through the capillaries there. It is advised to hold the liquid under the tongue for one second to get the maximum effect. It may take up to an hour to feel the full effect and last up to 8 hours. This is suitable for those who have difficulty taking pills or edibles.

CBD Capsules and Pills

These are used for whole-body effects and have lower bioavailability as it must pass through the digestive tract. Because of this, the whole quantity of CBD in the pill or pills will not reach your bloodstream. The onset time is usually 60 minutes and the effects last for hours. They are in many cases ideal choice to deliver accurate dosage because the dosage of each pill is fixed. They are either available in two-piece capsules or oil capsules.

CBD Edibles

Similar to pills and capsules, they are consumed orally. Some of the edibles are candies, gummies, cookies and cakes. Gummies are one of the popular choices and they have a standard dose of 5mg per gummy. This is an alternate method for those who do not like the unsavory taste of CBD oils.

CBD Topical

These offer a localized effect when applied on the skin surface. CBD balm can be used to treat sore muscles and joint pain. Their anti-inflammatory property is useful in treating some skin conditions such as acne and skin flare-ups due to psoriasis and eczema.

It must be remembered that these products only help in alleviating the symptoms and does not cure them. There is no standard dosage because the CBD tolerance and physiology such as weight varies from individuals. You must also be aware of the side effects and allergic reactions as well.
