KC Riverfest

Berkley Riverfront Park, Kansas City, Mo.

Exploding with fun, this premier Fourth of July event brings a roundup of family fun offerings such as delicious food, games, fantastic music on two stages and of course amazing fireworks. Free to $5.


Star Spangled Spectacular

July 4, 4 p.m.

Corporate Woods, Overland Park

A tradition in Overland Park since 1991, this spectacular celebrates our country’s birth and salutes to veterans with live music, food, a children’s pavilion and a dazzling fireworks feature with simulcast music on 710 AM and 103.7 FM. Free.


Worlds of Fun

July 1-4

Worlds of Fun, Kansas City, Mo.

At Worlds of Fun there are plenty of chances to catch rockets’ red glare and bombs bursting in air. Indulge in extreme fun on the park’s 47 worldly rides and then watch a massive display of fireworks light up the sky every night at 10 p.m. $35 to $82.


Leawood Fourth of July Celebration

July 4, 5 p.m.

Leawood City Park, Leawood

Leawood City Park becomes the site of all things red, white and blue this Fourth with an exciting community celebration. Drop by for food vendors, kids activities, musical entertainment by Flashback, and an awe-inspiring fireworks display at 9:45 p.m. Free.


Liberty 4th Fest

July 4 and 5, 5 p.m.

Fountain Bluff Sports Complex, Liberty

Double your patriotic fun with Liberty’s salute to America the great. Spanning two days, the fest features food trucks, a beer garden, family fun activities, fireworks and a live performance by Noe Palma on July 4, with a dessert and a KCBS-sanctioned barbecue contest. Free.

Jackson County’s 4th of July Celebration

July 4, 5:30 p.m.

Longview Lake Shelter #13, Kansas City, Mo.

Activities include live entertainment by Barb Wire Revolt and The Romantics, military tributes, skydivers, games, and food and drinks. Fireworks at 9:45, with simulcast available on 94.9 KCMO. Free.


Independence Day at the Farmstead

July 4, 9 a.m.

Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead

Family fun on the farmstead features games, old-fashioned patriotic crafts, a chalk walk, a bike parade and a pig calling contest. Free to $2.


Red, White and Blue Springs 4th of July Celebration

July 4, 6:30 p.m.

Blue Springs High School

Expect a live performance by Jake Worthington from The Voice and fireworks at 9:45 p.m. Free.


Osawatomie Fireworks

July 4

Osawatomie City Lake, Osawatomie

Bring family, friends and lawn chairs for live entertainment and a fireworks display all beginning at dusk. Free.

Parkville Fourth of July

Lenexa Community Days Parade and Freedom Run

Old Town Lenexa

This hometown tradition celebrates the Fourth with a “Red, White and Royal-themed” parade and a 3.1-mile Freedom Run fit for the whole family. Free to $30.
