Game photos: Chiefs clinch the top playoff seed against Atlanta Falcons
The Kansas City Chiefs have a few weeks to take it easy.
The defending Super Bowl champs made sure of that after squeaking out a 17-14 win against the Atlanta Falcons at Arrowhead on Sunday.
The win locks the Chiefs, who are 14-1, in as the top seed in the AFC, regardless of what Pittsburgh does against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
The win was notable for TE Travis Kelce setting an all-time receiving yards record at his position. Kelce also leads the entire league in receiving yards as more offensive schemes tend to spread the ball around, and as injuries to standout wideouts have cleared the field.
Mahomes was mostly his normal self, tossing a couple TDs and for 278 yards, adding to his league-leading total.
The Chiefs will face division foe San Diego on Sunday, with the Bolts not playing for anything. Then, they get a weekend off to watch the first round of playoff football, like the rest of us.
