KCI is getting new cheap direct flights to 4 more cities in Florida

Starting in early June, Spirit Airlines will have nonstop flights from Kansas City International Airport to Fort Lauderdale, Fort Meyers, Pensacola and Tampa. The new destinations now double the list of cities that Spirit Airlines flies to from KCI.

“Our Kansas City Guests told us they’re ready to get out and travel as vaccination efforts continue, and we’re responding with an unbeatable list of options stretching from Los Angeles to Fort Lauderdale,” John Kirby, Spirit Airlines Vice President of Network Planning, said in a press release. “Kansas City knows Spirit treats its Guests like family, gets them there on time and leaves them with more money to spend on all the fun stuff once they arrive.”

The announcement comes a few days after Kansas City mayor Quinton Lucas rescinded all capacity limits for businesses and gatherings and the CDC eased outdoor masked guidance for vaccinated individuals.

The most exciting pick of the litter is probably Fort Lauderdale, which is Spirit’s biggest hub to the Caribbean and Latin America—that will make it easier and cheaper to get to Aruba, Jamaica, or anywhere else someone wants to take you, like Kokomo.

In the release, Spirit also announced increased flights from KCI to Las Vegas, Myrtle Beach and Orlando.
